Paint a festive mushroom inspired wooden ornament with me in the British Library in London on Sunday the 15th of November as part of the Crafty Fox Christmas Market. Together we will get inspired by red toadstools, pine cones, holly berries and all things festive that can be found in the forest and paint a 10cm wooden decoration. This painting workshop is absolutely beginner-friendly and no previous painting experience is required.

Using acrylic paints, each participant will create a beautifully hand-painted round wooden mushroom decoration inspired by toadstools, rose hips, pine cones and festive foliage that can be found in the forest. At the beginning I will quickly explain some best practice use of acrylic paints and the paint brushes that you will be using. You will decorate both sides of your 10cm wooden decoration and you will be able to add some gold and silver highlights with metallic markers at the end. Once you have added the satin ribbon, your wooden mushroom decoration is ready to be hung.

This is a relaxed, joyful workshop perfect for beginners and a mindful way to connect with nature while creating a unique keepsake to take home. The workshop is suitable for adults and young people aged 12+. Any minor needs to be accompanied by an adult and two spaces need to be purchased in this case. Inspired by fungi, mosses and the hidden world of the woodland floor, I design creative experiences that encourage participants to slow down, step away from screens and discover the joy of painting. My workshops are designed to be welcoming and accessible, helping participants of all abilities develop new skills, build confidence and create a unique piece of artwork they can be proud of.

The British Library is located in King’s Cross London 96 Euston Rd., London NW1 2DB. The workshop space is inside the library. Once you enter through the main entrance, head up the stairs and escalators to the ‘balcony’ area right above Crafty Fox market (see images for the exact workshop location. We will start the workshop on time at 1:30pm so please arrive a couple of minutes before to get settled.
