Butterfly Painting Workshop at The Horniman Museum and Gardens - 28th of June 2026

Butterfly Painting Workshop at The Horniman Museum and Gardens - 28th of June 2026
During this beginner-friendly acrylic painting workshop on the 28th of June we will be painting one of the most eye-catching butterflies from the Butterfly House at the Horniman Museum and Gardens: A Leopard Lacewing. With its bright orange and yellow wings covered in black and white spots it makes a great painting motif. You will receive the motif sketched out in pencil on an A4 grey board, ready to be filled in with bold acrylic paints. Under step-by-step guidance you will mix the right colours and use the correct paint brushes to create a beautiful ready-to-frame butterfly illustration. As the final step we will be adding some delicate florals in whites, pinks and yellows surrounding the butterfly.
